About this artwork
Sahara Sand N°8 is an aerial photograph and shows orange dust and sand blown over from the Sahara deposited on a glacier in the eastern part of Switzerland. Becoming especially visible in winter, the phenomenon is called “blood-snow”. It can occour several times during the year, creating surreal and abstract color patterns on the ice.
