The FLOATING LAKES Series

The FLOATING LAKES Series was shot in the eastern part of Greenland and shows from an aerial perspective freshwater lakes forming on icebergs drifting in the sea.
The blue and turquise lakes form during the melting process of the iceberg and are a surreal and abstract composition of its own.

The journey of an iceberg from calving to melting down and finally becoming water again can take up to several years.
During that time they often travel thousands of kilometres, change form and shape under the influence of the elements, and serve as a home for marine wildlife resting on it.

The photographs are blurring the line between the ephemeral and the enduring.
They serve as a reminder of the fragility and resilience of life, encouraging us to appreciate the fleeting moments of beauty that surround us.

The photographs of the series are available as limited fine art prints.
